What did I think of the book?

 ***Spoiler Alert(s)***

I also have to rate this book 5 stars out of 5 stars.  You should definitely read it if you want.  This book is wonderful! Anne gets married and lives happily with Gilbert. She has more children and in the end, she has seven children in total. This book is mostly about her kid’s adventures, and they are hilarious. They are so much fun and makes me want to be there in-person. Everything is described so well, and the children are unique in their own way.

What did I think of the characters of the book?

Anne is an optimistic girl who likes to imagine. She is stubborn and makes mistakes but sees the world as a positive place full of possibilities. She is funny and bright. She has grown older and wiser but has a little childish self left in her. She becomes a wife to Gilbert. She also becomes a mother. Gilbert Blythe is Anne’s husband and a father. He is a doctor and a father to seven kids(one is dead). They move into a bigger house before the beginning of the book.

Aunt Mary Maria Blythe is Gilbert’s father’s cousin. She is often and easily offended. She always dressed nicely and looked younger than the age of 55. Susan Baker is the hired lady who helps around the house. She loves Shirley like a mother. She has grey hair and fair skin.

(All the siblings are in order of who was born first and last)

James Matthew “Jem” Blythe is the eldest son of Anne and Gilbert. He also the second one born. He has curly red hair, frank hazel eyes, his mother’s nose, and his father’s mouth. He is sturdy and reliable, not a great talker but a good all-round student. He likes to investigate the truth. Walter Cuthbert Blythe is the second son of Anne and Gilbert. He is the most handsome out of the Ingleside children. He had straight black hair, grey eyes, and finely modeled features. He has his mother’s vivid imagination and passionate love of beauty.

Diane “Di”  Blythe is the twin sister of Nan. Di has flaming red hair, grey-green eyes, and probably the same freckled skin. She has the same personalities as her father, his twinkling sense of humor, and his common sense. Anne “Nan” Blythe is the twin sister of Di. Nan is the most beautiful girl in the neighborhood with velvety-nut brown eyes and silky nut-brown hair. She is very blithe and a dainty little maiden. She inherited her mother’s vivid imagination and joyful outlook on life. Nan attempts to cover her shyness and insecurity by walking with her nose tilted a little upwards and being quiet.

Shirley Blythe has brown hair and eyes, tan skin, and rosy cheeks. He is very quiet and different from his siblings. He is sensible, practical, and level-headed. Bertha Marilla “Rilla” Blythe is the youngest sibling out of all the Ingleside children.  She has great, dreamy hazel eyes, milky skin with many freckles, and delicately arched eyebrows. Her hair is brown and her upper lip has a small dent. Rilla gets jealous easily is someone had something she didn’t have.

What did I think of the art of the book?

The cover is charming! Anne is surrounded by her children. Di and Nan are picking flowers in front of her. Jem, Walter, and Shirley are standing behind her. Anne is wearing is a white blouse and a black skirt.  Her daughter, Nan, is sitting in a blue dress picking white flowers. Di is sitting next to her wearing a black and blue outfit, also picking flowers.

Would I like a sequel or does the sequel work?

There are sequels to this book and I’m reading the next book. A sequel would work because Anne is getting married and will raise children. This would be her last time teaching before she gets married to Gilbert. There are 2 more original sequels to this book. And by original, I mean, that L.M. Montgomery wrote these books.

What is the ideal reader age group for this book?

The ideal age group for this book would be 10+. I love this book and anyone older can also read this.
